This may be longer in the event of holidays or staff availability.
In general, unless we need to post something to you, we will normally only need a name and email address to communicate with you. If you email us with general inquiries your details will not be added to any mailing or marketing lists, nor will your contact information be retained when no longer needed, for example when your query has been answered.
Although we are a publisher, we do not operate a subscription service. Magazines published are provided with free access to users, and no registration required. We provide a flipbook option for online viewing, and a PDF option so that users can download the magazine to read at their convenience. Users may have hard copies of the downloaded PDF printed on condition that it printed as is and not changed in any way.
eBooks and other specialist publications and reports may be provided free or offered for sale. In the event of sale items, we would only require a name and email so that we can send the item electronically. We would retain these details on a spreadsheet in the event of any future inquiries however you can ask us to remove your details once you have received your item and the transaction has been completed to your satisfaction.
In the event of a hard copy sale we would need a mailing address, however we would not normally need to keep this mailing address once you’ve confirmed that the item has been received as we would have no further need for it. In any event your details will not be added to any marketing list without your express permission.

Details of any financial transactions for our accounts are recorded blind. This means that we would record details of the transaction for accounting and tax purposes, but without including your details on the spreadsheet.
The PC that information is stored on is protected by a reputable antivirus program. We are not providing details of our antivirus program here for security reasons. This PC is in a lockable office in a building protected by an alarm system. The PC and any documents containing personal information are additionally password protected. Data is also stored off site by a GDPR compliant service provider. Again, we are not publishing details of this service provider here for security reasons.
Why does Guild of Security Industry Professionals Ltd need to collect and store personal data?
For us to provide you some services such as, but not limited to, CPD training, we need to collect personal data for correspondence purposes and/or detailed service provision.
We are committed to ensuring that the information we collect and use is appropriate for this purpose, and does not constitute an invasion of your privacy. As stated above we aim to collect only the minimum amount of information required in all cases.
We actively develop and offer training courses both directly, i.e. compliled in-house, and in partnership with carefully selected training partners. When you enrol on a course offered via one of our partners, we will need to pass on your details to them so that they can contact you to provide the tuition and access to the material required to complete the training. They will also issue any certificates or diplomas directly.
Why would you enrol via us and not directly with one of our partners? Simply because we negotiate special rates and/or incentives for students enrolling via our platform in return for our promoting their services via Guild of Security Industry Professionals Ltd.
