1. Membership Eligibility
1.1 GSIP membership is open exclusively to individuals who are based in the United Kingdom and are actively engaged in the security industry. Exceptions to this clause are extended to international candidates who joined the Guild at inception or to candidates in training who are on a clear path to employment within the security industry on completion of training.
1.2 Membership if offered solely at our discretion.
2. Membership
2.1 Membership: Members have access to all benefits offered by GSIP, including member-only Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses and Foundation level courses, both free and at reduced rates.
2.2 Student Membership: (Note that student memberships are no longer offered due to abuse of the offer). Student accounts were offered at the discretion of GSIP and intended for individuals interested in joining the UK Private Security Industry and who are actively engaged in CPD study within the security sector. Student accounts are free but may be removed at any time without prior notice. Accounts that are not used for CPD study purposes will be removed. Student members are offered free access to a limited number of CPD courses. Existing student account will be removed after 31/08/2026.
2.3 Inactive Student Accounts: Student accounts that remain inactive will be removed without prior notice.
2.4 Student accounts without a recogniseable name (required for certification) will be removed without warning
2.5 The Guild is a peer support network and as such your membership is non-voting.
2.6 The UK Security Industry is regulated by the PSIA 2001 – You are responsible for your activities within the industry and for ensuring that you act within the law at all times.
3. Professional Behavior and Conduct
3.1 GSIP is a Peer Support Network dedicated to fostering personal and professional development within the security industry via means of CPD Training. As a member, you are expected to conduct yourself in a professional and respectful manner at all times.
3.2 Members are encouraged to contribute positively to the GSIP community, share knowledge, and engage in constructive discussions related to the security industry.
3.3 Any form of harassment, discrimination, or offensive behavior towards fellow members, GSIP staff, or any other individuals within the community will not be tolerated and may result in immediate termination of membership.
4. Certificate and Study Records
4.1 It is the responsibility of all account holders to download and retain their PDF certificates upon completing a course offered by GSIP.
4.2 GSIP does not maintain records of completed courses, and as such, members must keep their own records of their study progress and achievements.
4.3 GSIP accepts no responsibility for lost certificates or any consequences arising from their loss.
5. Membership Termination
5.1 GSIP reserves the right to terminate or suspend any member’s membership at its discretion, with or without prior notice, for any violation of these terms and conditions or for any behaviour that is deemed detrimental to the GSIP community or its objectives.
5.2 Members are expected to inform the Guild of changes in their circumstances affecting their ability to work in the security industry.
6. Changes to Terms and Conditions
6.1 GSIP reserves the right to modify or amend these terms and conditions at any time.
7. Communication Issues
7.1 In the event of email ‘bouncebacks’ or email error notifications we reserve the right to suspend membership accounts. Kindly note it is members/students responsibility to ensure that their registered emails are working properly. Repeated communication failures will result in accounts being removed. 9. Complaints
9.1 In the event that complaints are received regarding the activities of a member we will seek permission from the complainee, to share any information provided, without naming them, with the industry regulator
9.2 All correspondence shared with the Guild is in confidence and we will only share information with outside parties if:

9.4 We are compelled to via court order to release information and the identity of the correspondent.
10. Site Security
10.1 We will occasionally initiate sitewide password resets. This will involve you resetting your password to regain access to the site – it will not affect your membership. This precaution is to assist us in protecting the integrity of the site.
