International Body Armour Survey Reveals Security Industry’s Knowledge Shortcoming
British firm PPSS Group published its international body armour survey whitepaper today. 729 security professionals from countries around the world completed the survey, which was conducted between 01 February and 31 March 2022. 57% of participants were UK based. According to the company’s CEO Robert Kaiser, it was of great value to establish what level of knowledge security professionals have about the body armour they are either wearing themselves or purchasing for their frontline staff: https://theprofessionalsecurityofficer.com/international-body-armour-survey-reveals-security-industrys-knowledge-shortcoming/
CPD Training: long planned is finally in the pipeline. We have recently signed a contract with an experienced security professional to help us with proofing and developing the CPD courses. We are also talking to companies about sponsoring training relating to the products and services that they provide to end users. The Physical Security Skills website, mothballed 18 months or so ago, has been dusted off and is being beta evaluated to make sure that everything works! Watch this space!
Changes to membership management: GSIP Membership is now free, we have decided not to charge for membership. Instead, we will be providing a series of both free and paid CPD courses via our associated training site ad looking to that income to meet our running costs going forward. SIA license holders will automatically be enrolled to the end date of their current licensing period with free upgrades. Other interested parties will join on a 3-year rolling plan. Please do however keep your contact details up to date – if we receive an email bounce back and are unable to contact you, we will remove your details from the list. Of course, you can re-join but keeping your contact details up to date saves us both a bit of hassle!
Add us to your address book, Whitelist or mark our emails ‘Not Spam’ so that admin@gsip.co.uk & postmaster@gsip.co.uk don’t end up in your spam folder! If not sure how to do that you can easily get instructions via a google search, for example: How to whitelist in Gmail – replace Gmail with your email provider’s name. There are also loads of YouTube videos to help. I am harping on about this a bit because it is ultra-important! There’s no point signing up and then not hearing anything from us because your email service provider has decided that our emails get blacked!
Till next month!
