The Guild of Security Industry Professionals - Autumn 2021 Edition
What’s going on in the background?
GSIP is advancing efforts in developing accessible CPD security related training for colleagues in the industry. We have a draft curriculum that we will be working to. We are looking for a maximum of 5 front line colleagues to join a private Facebook group to give us feedback as we develop the courses. You will be the first to see the curriculum and the associated courses – we don’t have a budget to pay anyone BUT you will receive a free CPD certificate on completion of each course, you will be asked to submit the assessment questions.
Some of the courses will be completely free but we do need to generate an income to help pay our bills. On the training side the more involved/specialist training courses will still be offered free to make the knowledge available – a small fee will be requested to issue a PDF certificate on successful completion of the associated assessments. There will be a provision to help colleagues (in strict confidence) who may be experiencing hardship.
If you have at least 3 years industry experience and would like to join this private Facebook group when it is ready, please email email@example.com with ‘Private Facebook Group’ in the subject line. You will be asked to agree to a set of terms and conditions before joining…

Highlighting Violence Against Security Workers
As we and everyone else in the industry knows only too well the levels of violence against security workers in the UK have, and continue to be, very high.
At time of writing our blog ‘Violence Against Security, Raising awareness of the high levels of violence against security workers!’ @ https://violenceagainstsecurity.info/ has reached 262 posts and rising. These are only the tip of the iceberg, media stories that we find ourselves. There will be many more that we miss.
The Violence Against Security blog lists news stories that can be searched by key word category. If you would like to help the project, please use the form on the contact page to send us information that we would otherwise miss.
Phishing attacks show no sign of slowing down anytime soon
